Code, Business Occupations and Professions § 3–309.2","heading":"","body":"(a) The Board may issue a retired status license to an individual who:\n(1) is currently licensed by the Board to practice architecture;\n(2) has been a licensed architect for at least 25 years, of which 5 years have been in Maryland;\n(3) is not the subject of a pending disciplinary action related to the practice of architecture in this or another state;\n(4) submits to the Board an application on the form provided by the Board; and\n(5) pays to the Board a fee set by the Board.\n(b) The holder of a retired status license issued under this section:\n(1) may use the designation of “architect emeritus”; but\n(2) may not engage in the practice of architecture.\n(c) The Board may reactivate the license of an individual who holds a retired status license if that individual:\n(1) submits to the Board an application for reactivation on the form provided by the Board;\n(2) meets all continuing professional competency requirements that would have been required for renewal of a license under § 3–309.1 of this subtitle if the individual had not been issued a retired status license;\n(3) is not the subject of a pending disciplinary action related to the practice of architecture in this or any other state; and\n(4) pays to the Board a reactivation fee set by the Board.","path":["Article - Business Occupations and Professions"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gbo\u0026section=3-309.2","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:13Z","sha256":"1b9c7600abd9e60c7276c30d82a740a8f5012630e51ba92c4906fe035ccf4c78","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-business-occupations-and-professions-3-309.1","next":"us-md/md.-code-business-occupations-and-professions-3-310"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
