Code, Business Occupations and Professions § 3–404","heading":"","body":"(a) To qualify for a permit, a corporation, limited liability company, or partnership shall meet the requirements of this section.\n(b) (1) At least two-thirds of the directors of a corporation shall be licensed in this or another state to practice architecture, engineering, or landscape architecture.\n(2) (i) At least two-thirds of the partners of a partnership shall be licensed in this or another state to practice architecture, engineering, or landscape architecture.\n(ii) If the partnership is a limited partnership, at least two-thirds of the general partners of the limited partnership shall be licensed in this or another state to practice architecture, engineering, or landscape architecture.\n(3) At least two-thirds of the members of a limited liability company shall be licensed in this or another state to practice architecture, engineering, or landscape architecture.\n(c) (1) A corporation, limited liability company, or partnership shall have appointed at least 1 responsible member of the corporation, limited liability company, or partnership.\n(2) A responsible member shall be in charge of architecture practiced through the corporation, limited liability company, or partnership.\n(3) Each responsible member shall be:\n(i) a director or an officer of a corporation, a member of a limited liability company, or a general partner of a partnership; and\n(ii) a licensed architect.","path":["Article - Business Occupations and Professions"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gbo\u0026section=3-404","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:13Z","sha256":"8cab2e31907d827259a1d307f2fbe66aaf0b8cf084404040a316cbd2bf167c09","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-business-occupations-and-professions-3-403","next":"us-md/md.-code-business-occupations-and-professions-3-405"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
