Code, Business Occupations and Professions § 4–509","heading":"","body":"(a) The owner shall designate a master barber to supervise each apprentice barber who is learning to practice barbering or to provide barber–stylist services in the barbershop.\n(b) The owner or a designated master barber shall file monthly a report, on a form supplied by the Board, that:\n(1) states the progress of each apprentice barber employed by the barbershop; and\n(2) identifies the master barber supervising each apprentice barber.\n(c) The owner and the master barber supervising an apprentice barber immediately shall advise the Board in writing of:\n(1) the date on which an apprentice barber ceases learning to practice barbering or to provide barber–stylist services at the barbershop, temporarily or permanently; and\n(2) the reason for the cessation.","path":["Article - Business Occupations and Professions"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gbo\u0026section=4-509","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:13Z","sha256":"652290636c2b41775441fe0c4225f2072b86f1865cfda2c6f244e216e98fd71e","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-business-occupations-and-professions-4-508","next":"us-md/md.-code-business-occupations-and-professions-4-511"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
