Code, Business Occupations and Professions § 5–308","heading":"","body":"(a) Subject to the provisions of this section, the Board may waive any examination requirement of this subtitle for an individual who is licensed to practice as a cosmetologist or a limited practice cosmetologist in another state.\n(b) The Board may grant a waiver under this section only if the applicant:\n(1) pays to the Board an application fee established by the Board in accordance with § 5-205 of this title; and\n(2) provides adequate evidence that the applicant:\n(i) meets the qualifications otherwise required by this subtitle; and\n(ii) became licensed in the other state after passing, in that or any other state, an examination that is at least equivalent to the examination for which the applicant is seeking a waiver.","path":["Article - Business Occupations and Professions"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gbo\u0026section=5-308","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:13Z","sha256":"364c1963227e7f3583b6608e8b20a0f93cbb1683006735c016b4cdf5ac1a1fde","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-business-occupations-and-professions-5-307.1","next":"us-md/md.-code-business-occupations-and-professions-5-309"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
