Code, Business Occupations and Professions § 6–205","heading":"","body":"(a) In addition to any powers and duties set forth elsewhere, the State Board shall:\n(1) twice a year hold a seminar and invite members from each local licensing jurisdiction to discuss any industry or licensing problems;\n(2) adopt regulations to establish:\n(i) application and examination fees;\n(ii) continuing education requirements; and\n(iii) application deadlines;\n(3) enforce, within 18 months of issuance, minimum standards for the provision of electrical services consistent with the most recently issued version of the National Fire Protection Association 70: National Electrical Code;\n(4) issue licenses;\n(5) keep records of its proceedings; and\n(6) adopt any other regulations necessary to carry out this title.\n(b) The continuing education requirements adopted under this section shall:\n(1) be based on the National Electrical Code or any local variants adopted by a local board;\n(2) consist of a course or training on practical techniques, installation procedures, or other relevant topics; and\n(3) be administered by:\n(i) a college or an apprenticeship program approved by the Division of Workforce Development and Adult Learning or the federal Office of Apprenticeship;\n(ii) a state or nationally recognized training program; or\n(iii) another person approved by the State Board.","path":["Article - Business Occupations and Professions"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gbo\u0026section=6-205","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:13Z","sha256":"87607a93fa7aed7db5003866d1eef76a48c337034341464bc78205aca6bb8f9c","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-business-occupations-and-professions-6-204","next":"us-md/md.-code-business-occupations-and-professions-6-206"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
