Code, Business Regulation § 11–210","heading":"","body":"(a) Except as provided in subsection (b) of this section, the Commission may:\n(1) adopt regulations and conditions to govern racing and betting on racing in the State; and\n(2) approve or disapprove:\n(i) prices that a licensee may set for admission to a race, a service performed, or an article sold at a track; and\n(ii) the size of the purse, reward, or stake to be offered at a race.\n(b) The Commission may not adopt regulations that allow:\n(1) racing a breed of horse not now authorized by law; or\n(2) holding currently unauthorized:\n(i) intertrack betting;\n(ii) off-track betting; or\n(iii) telephone betting other than telephone account betting.","path":["Article - Business Regulation"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gbr\u0026section=11-210","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:23Z","sha256":"650fccee155a776365fa48841861be18da886d88db439f3edae5fa9bf33dab99","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-business-regulation-11-209","next":"us-md/md.-code-business-regulation-11-211"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
