Code, Business Regulation § 12.5–506","heading":"","body":"(a) Subject to the notice and hearing provisions of Title 10, Subtitle 2 of the State Government Article, the Secretary may bring a civil administrative action against a person that violates § 12.5–505(a) of this subtitle.\n(b) After a hearing, if the Secretary finds that a person has violated § 12.5–505(a) of this subtitle, the Secretary may:\n(1) order the person to cease and desist from unlawful practice; and\n(2) impose a civil penalty not exceeding $100 for each day of unlawful practice.\n(c) Any person aggrieved by a decision and order of the Secretary under this section may take an appeal as allowed in Title 10, Subtitle 2 of the State Government Article.","path":["Article - Business Regulation"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gbr\u0026section=12.5-506","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:23Z","sha256":"dd735e54b652edf617770224524104ec61f5b2dbaa2f921d6ac9879d4e4e4127","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-business-regulation-12.5-505","next":"us-md/md.-code-business-regulation-12.5-507"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
