Code, Business Regulation § 13–101","heading":"","body":"(a) In this title the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) (1) “Trading stamp” means a stamp or other similar device issued in connection with the retail sale of goods or services, as a cash discount or for any other marketing purpose, that is redeemable for cash, goods, or services.\n(2) “Trading stamp” does not include a redeemable device that:\n(i) a manufacturer or packer of an article uses to advertise or sell the article; or\n(ii) a magazine, newspaper, or other publication issues and redeems.\n(c) “Trading stamp company” means a person who, in any way:\n(1) distributes trading stamps for retail issuance by others; or\n(2) redeems trading stamps for retailers.","path":["Article - Business Regulation"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gbr\u0026section=13-101","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:23Z","sha256":"0c0ce655f18b8e2d5486c1a71245fb67315292a0171e6846828e21898ae8e1fd","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-business-regulation-12.5-601","next":"us-md/md.-code-business-regulation-13-102"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
