Code, Business Regulation § 19–607","heading":"","body":"(a) A person who violates any provision of this subtitle is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to a fine not exceeding $12,000 or imprisonment not exceeding 1 year or both, in addition to any penalty imposed under federal law.\n(b) In determining the penalty, the court shall consider:\n(1) any previous violations of this subtitle by the international marriage broker;\n(2) the seriousness of the violation, including the nature, circumstances, and extent of the violation;\n(3) the demonstrated good faith of the international marriage broker; and\n(4) the necessity of deterring future violations.","path":["Article - Business Regulation"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gbr\u0026section=19-607","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:23Z","sha256":"33cdd073d75c0d0062db3541c7c093c6f0e6c4782e31648e29740d1f1faf2a70","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-business-regulation-19-606","next":"us-md/md.-code-business-regulation-19-701"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
