Code, Business Regulation § 2–105","heading":"","body":"(a) The Secretary may adopt regulations for the Office of the Secretary.\n(b) Before a unit in the Department publishes a proposed regulation under § 10–112 of the State Government Article, the unit shall submit the proposed regulation to the Secretary.\n(c) (1) The Secretary may approve any proposed regulation.\n(2) Within 30 days after submission of a proposed regulation on a regulatory, supervisory, quasi–judicial, disciplinary, or enforcement function of a unit, the Secretary may disapprove the proposed regulation but only if the Secretary finds that it:\n(i) would discourage competition within a regulated occupation or profession;\n(ii) would unfairly restrict entry of applicants into a regulated occupation or profession; or\n(iii) otherwise is contrary to the public interest.\n(3) The Secretary may disapprove or revise any other proposed regulation.","path":["Article - Business Regulation"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gbr\u0026section=2-105","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:23Z","sha256":"2a3fe291c60045f34a37d76317cd7ecc50b371313c95111bfe0171d79785d61e","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-business-regulation-2-104","next":"us-md/md.-code-business-regulation-2-106"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
