Code, Business Regulation § 5–607","heading":"","body":"(a) If the Director finds that a registered cemeterian, permit holder, or any other person subject to the trust requirements of this subtitle has violated this subtitle or a regulation adopted under this subtitle, the Director may refer the matter to:\n(1) the Attorney General for civil enforcement; or\n(2) the appropriate State’s Attorney for criminal prosecution.\n(b) The Attorney General may sue for and a court may grant:\n(1) injunctive or other equitable relief;\n(2) imposition of a civil penalty not exceeding $5,000; or\n(3) both.","path":["Article - Business Regulation"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gbr\u0026section=5-607","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:23Z","sha256":"7c8449511125700493bf42066bdf48646f7c5850d15626ce280bbb2ca64c9c86","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-business-regulation-5-606","next":"us-md/md.-code-business-regulation-5-608"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
