Code, Business Regulation § 5–804","heading":"","body":"(a) In this section, “perpetual care” has the meaning stated in § 5–601 of this title.\n(b) A registered cemeterian, registered crematory operator, or permit holder that engages in the operation of a cemetery, crematory, or burial goods business who sells or offers to sell to the public cremation services, a burial lot, or a burial right in a cemetery for pet remains as to which perpetual care is stated or implied owes a duty of perpetual care for the cemetery in which the pet remains are interred.\n(c) The Director shall adopt regulations in accordance with § 5–204(a) of this title to enforce the requirements of this section.","path":["Article - Business Regulation"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gbr\u0026section=5-804","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:23Z","sha256":"7c9941e9b3526452cfa4b9b47f2751f182f8657d5233a55c9d82640308fa5cd5","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-business-regulation-5-803","next":"us-md/md.-code-business-regulation-5-805"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
