Code, Business Regulation § 6–5A–10","heading":"","body":"(a) A person that engages in soliciting public safety contributions without prior application for registration as a public safety solicitor is guilty of a misdemeanor and, on conviction, is subject to a fine not exceeding 10 times the value of the total amount of funds improperly solicited or imprisonment not exceeding 1 year or both.\n(b) A person convicted of a violation of this section may:\n(1) be prohibited from acting as a public safety solicitor for a period up to 10 years beginning on the date of the conviction; and\n(2) be ordered to refund all improperly solicited public safety contributions to the donors who made such contributions.","path":["Article - Business Regulation"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gbr\u0026section=6-5A-10","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:23Z","sha256":"851508d08ac3a96a9efb98d636db9d276bb6ac059a13f154e59afde0d42738b5","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-business-regulation-6-5a-09","next":"us-md/md.-code-business-regulation-6-5a-11"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
