Code, Business Regulation § 8–404","heading":"","body":"(a) Before the Commission issues a contractor license, the contractor shall pay a fee of $100 to be credited to the Fund.\n(b) (1) If the Commission finds that, because of pending claims, the amount of the Fund may fall below $1,000,000, the Commission shall assess each contractor a fee of $50.\n(2) However, under this subsection the Commission may not assess a contractor more than $150 in a calendar year.\n(c) If a contractor fails to pay an assessment within 60 days after notice of the assessment, the contractor license is suspended until the assessment is paid.","path":["Article - Business Regulation"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gbr\u0026section=8-404","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:23Z","sha256":"bc9319156a5cb68a08f7d5160d7b598222ba67cc9cd91704faa406cfade09128","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-business-regulation-8-403","next":"us-md/md.-code-business-regulation-8-405"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
