Code, Commercial Law § 12–1205","heading":"","body":"(a) A reverse mortgage loan that is not insured under 12 U.S.C. § 1715z–20 is not subject to the provisions in 12 U.S.C. § 1715z–20, or in any regulations or guidance adopted under 12 U.S.C. § 1715z–20, that:\n(1) Limit origination fees to $6,000 as adjusted under 12 U.S.C. § 1715z–20(r);\n(2) Impose maximum claim amounts or other loan limit restrictions; or\n(3) Require government insurance for the loan.\n(b) A lender or an arranger of financing is not subject to the federal regulatory approval requirements of 24 C.F.R., Part 202 when making or arranging a reverse mortgage loan that is not insured under 12 U.S.C. § 1715z–20.","path":["Article - Commercial Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcl\u0026section=12-1205","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:33Z","sha256":"32005d73361bb9901eb368c7e96bc667579e8c5e07449005c0cd2933ac66ba94","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-commercial-law-12-1204","next":"us-md/md.-code-commercial-law-12-1206"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
