Code, Commercial Law § 12–121","heading":"","body":"(a) In this section, the term “lender’s inspection fee” means a fee imposed by a lender to pay for a visual inspection of real property.\n(b) Except as provided in subsection (c) of this section, a lender may not impose a lender’s inspection fee in connection with a loan secured by residential real property.\n(c) A lender’s inspection fee may be charged if the inspection is needed to ascertain completion of:\n(1) Construction of a new home; or\n(2) Repairs, alterations, or other work required by the lender.\n(d) This section does not apply to an appraisal of the value of real property by a lender or to fees imposed in connection with an appraisal.","path":["Article - Commercial Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcl\u0026section=12-121","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:33Z","sha256":"c0f3b4b3dc09b8e4e6a179deb17b1f5e891e7461093c6eb5d85bccf30f72c945","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-commercial-law-12-120","next":"us-md/md.-code-commercial-law-12-122"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
