Code, Commercial Law § 12–304","heading":"","body":"(a) A lender may not directly or indirectly print, publish, distribute, or broadcast any false, misleading, or deceptive statement regarding the rates, terms, or conditions of a loan.\n(b) (1) If charges or rates of charges are advertised by a licensee, the Commissioner may require him to state them fully and clearly in any manner the Commissioner considers necessary to prevent misunderstanding by a prospective borrower.\n(2) Subject to any condition which the Commissioner may impose to prevent a false impression regarding the scope or degree of protection provided by this subtitle, the Commissioner may permit or require a licensee to refer in his advertising to the fact that his business is under State supervision.","path":["Article - Commercial Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcl\u0026section=12-304","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:33Z","sha256":"da0d57c15c96ac05141bc7c55a4b860a6ebc97fb572c0f92774ac77a8e13b03c","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-commercial-law-12-303","next":"us-md/md.-code-commercial-law-12-305"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
