Code, Commercial Law § 14–1316","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) In this section the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(2) “Bedding” means a mattress or box spring that:\n(i) Is stuffed or filled wholly or partly with concealed matter; and\n(ii) Can be used by an individual for sleeping or reclining.\n(3) “Consumer” means an actual or a prospective purchaser of goods that are primarily for personal, household, or family purposes.\n(4) “Used” means preowned or having a component that was used previously for any purpose.\n(b) A person may not recover bedding that is intended to be sold or offered for sale to a consumer in the State unless the person clearly marks the bedding as used.\n(c) A person who violates subsection (b) of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to a fine not exceeding $500.","path":["Article - Commercial Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcl\u0026section=14-1316","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:33Z","sha256":"de4c50740116edc79c998b6bcb321b4a291ea98b67d84cfb30bb5348e6093afe","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-commercial-law-14-1315","next":"us-md/md.-code-commercial-law-14-1317"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
