Code, Commercial Law § 14–2203","heading":"","body":"(a) A contract made pursuant to a telephone solicitation is not valid and enforceable against a consumer unless made in compliance with this subtitle.\n(b) A contract made pursuant to a telephone solicitation:\n(1) Shall be reduced to writing and signed by the consumer;\n(2) Shall comply with all other applicable laws and regulations;\n(3) Shall match the description of goods or services as that principally used in the telephone solicitation;\n(4) Shall contain the name, address, and telephone number of the seller, the total price of the contract, and a detailed description of the goods or services being sold;\n(5) Shall contain, in at least 12 point type, immediately preceding the signature, the following statement:\n“You are not obligated to pay any money unless you sign this contract and return it to the seller.”; and\n(6) May not exclude from its terms any oral or written representations made by the merchant to the consumer in connection with the transaction.","path":["Article - Commercial Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcl\u0026section=14-2203","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:33Z","sha256":"0fb0c6c705fc9d7dd2561c2269829ae5bc242bc918bdaa15c0ae1937a1a957cc","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-commercial-law-14-2202","next":"us-md/md.-code-commercial-law-14-2204"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
