Code, Commercial Law § 14–2801","heading":"","body":"(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) “Blind” means that an individual’s visual acuity:\n(1) Does not exceed 20/200 in the better eye with correcting lenses; or\n(2) Exceeds 20/200 but with a field of vision that at the widest diameter subtends an angle not greater than 20 degrees.\n(c) (1) “Direct labor hours” includes all hours spent in the manufacture and assembly of a product made by blind individuals.\n(2) “Direct labor hours” does not include time spent in the administration, supervision, shipping, and inspection of a product made by blind individuals.\n(d) “Person” includes an individual, corporation, business trust, statutory trust, estate, trust, partnership, association, two or more persons having a joint or common interest, or any other legal or commercial entity.\n(e) “Product made by the blind” means a product if not less than 75% of the total personnel engaged in the direct labor hours in the manufacture and assembly of the product are blind workers.","path":["Article - Commercial Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcl\u0026section=14-2801","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:33Z","sha256":"2b9377793cb782d37a4ccd8888de062511ff186077d809377aa3877c9b5d1a14","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-commercial-law-14-2706","next":"us-md/md.-code-commercial-law-14-2802"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
