Code, Commercial Law § 14–4001","heading":"","body":"(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) (1) “Entertainment event” means:\n(i) A performance;\n(ii) A recreation;\n(iii) An amusement;\n(iv) A diversion;\n(v) A spectacle;\n(vi) A show; or\n(vii) Any similar event.\n(2) “Entertainment event” includes:\n(i) A theatrical or musical performance;\n(ii) A concert;\n(iii) A film;\n(iv) A game;\n(v) A ride; and\n(vi) A sporting event.\n(c) (1) “Lower–level domain name” means the portion of text in a URL that is to the left of top–level domains such as .com, .net, or .org.\n(2) “Lower–level domain name” includes:\n(i) A second–level domain name;\n(ii) A third–level domain name; and\n(iii) Any other subdomain name.\n(d) “Ticket” means a ticket for admission to an entertainment event.\n(e) “Ticket website” means a website:\n(1) Advertising the sale or resale of tickets;\n(2) Offering the sale or resale of tickets; or\n(3) Facilitating a secondary ticket exchange or electronic marketplace that enables consumers to sell, purchase, and resell tickets to an entertainment event in the State.\n(f) “URL” means the Uniform Resource Locator for a website.\n(g) “Venue” means a theater, a stadium, a field, a hall, a convention center, a fairground, or any other facility where an entertainment event takes place.","path":["Article - Commercial Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcl\u0026section=14-4001","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:33Z","sha256":"3f76532b994891e57eeb10c5e9be1ba2a2b6b6c2936f3bba5442fee8f843c355","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-commercial-law-14-3905","next":"us-md/md.-code-commercial-law-14-4002"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
