Code, Commercial Law § 24–501","heading":"","body":"(a) Except as otherwise provided in subsection (b) of this section, the court may issue an order under this title only after notice and an opportunity for a hearing.\n(b) The court may issue an order under this title:\n(1) If the circumstances require issuance of an order before notice is given, without prior notice;\n(2) If the circumstances require issuance of an order before a hearing is held, after notice and without a prior hearing; or\n(3) If no interested party timely requests a hearing, after notice and without a hearing.\n(c) The receiver shall file periodically with the court a master service list consisting of the names, mailing addresses, and, where available, facsimile numbers and e–mail addresses of:\n(1) The respondent;\n(2) The receiver;\n(3) All persons joined as parties in the receivership;\n(4) All persons known by the receiver to have asserted any ownership of or lien in receivership property;\n(5) All persons that have filed a notice of appearance in accordance with this section; and\n(6) Any attorney of record.\n(d) Except as otherwise provided in this title, and unless the court orders otherwise, a motion shall be served in accordance with the Maryland Rules on:\n(1) All persons on the master service list;\n(2) All persons that have asserted an ownership interest or lien in receivership property that is the subject of the motion;\n(3) All persons that are identified in the motion as directly affected by the relief requested; and\n(4) Any other person as the court may direct.","path":["Article - Commercial Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcl\u0026section=24-501","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:33Z","sha256":"2170f419db86b0b978f1ec14961e179ffda618c8db72e600c34265191e95e1f1","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-commercial-law-24-406","next":"us-md/md.-code-commercial-law-24-502"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
