Code, Commercial Law § 24–701","heading":"","body":"(a) A court may award to a receiver from receivership property or proceeds the reasonable and necessary fees and expenses of performing the duties and exercising the powers of the receiver.\n(b) A court may order one or more of the following persons to pay the reasonable and necessary fees and expenses of the receivership, including reasonable attorney’s fees and costs:\n(1) A person that requested the appointment of the receiver, if the receivership does not produce sufficient funds to pay the fees and expenses; or\n(2) A person whose conduct would have justified the appointment of the receiver under § 24–201(a)(1) of this title.","path":["Article - Commercial Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcl\u0026section=24-701","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:33Z","sha256":"6e6dcc8c855b2ff7cfb2934216520a2d81745a078e2779a6a31b0abedff57897","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-commercial-law-24-602","next":"us-md/md.-code-commercial-law-24-702"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
