Code, Commercial Law § 4A–206","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) If a payment order addressed to a receiving bank is transmitted to a funds-transfer system for transmittal to the bank, the funds-transfer system is deemed to be an agent of the sender for the purpose of transmitting the payment order to the bank.\n(2) If there is a discrepancy between the terms of the payment order transmitted to the funds-transfer system and the terms of the payment order transmitted by the funds-transfer system to the bank, the terms of the payment order of the sender are those transmitted by the funds-transfer system.\n(3) This section does not apply to a funds-transfer system of the Federal Reserve Banks.\n(b) This section applies to cancellations and amendments of payment orders to the same extent that it applies to payment orders.","path":["Article - Commercial Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcl\u0026section=4A-206","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:33Z","sha256":"6916367a0a53b5430bf153e09e2fb03ab4438f3b73d12849748e93d8042a5323","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-commercial-law-4a-205","next":"us-md/md.-code-commercial-law-4a-207"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
