Code, Corporations and Associations § 5–526","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) A cooperative may operate as an agent to sell the products of its members or nonmember patrons on a nonprofit basis by contracting to pay the members or nonmember patrons the resale price for products sold by them to or through the cooperative, less a uniform charge to cover the expenses involved in the handling of these products.\n(2) The resale price shall be:\n(i) The actual resale price; or\n(ii) A price based on the average price during any period for products of the same type and quality.\n(3) The uniform charge for expenses shall be:\n(i) Specified in the contract;\n(ii) Made otherwise ascertainable; or\n(iii) Left for determination by the directors.\n(b) A cooperative desiring to purchase goods or obtain or perform services under this subtitle may operate on a nonprofit basis in a manner similar to that described in this section.","path":["Article - Corporations and Associations"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gca\u0026section=5-526","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:43Z","sha256":"d1bf5f311437ee016162f726c32837108b3945e212811e4b8d5f8c2cd20b059c","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-corporations-and-associations-5-525","next":"us-md/md.-code-corporations-and-associations-5-527"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
