Code, Corporations and Associations § 5–616","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) An annual meeting of the members of a cooperative shall be held at the time and place provided in the bylaws.\n(2) An annual meeting may be held:\n(i) In person;\n(ii) Virtually; or\n(iii) With a combination of in–person and virtual attendance.\n(b) A special meeting of the members of a cooperative may be:\n(1) Called by:\n(i) The chairman;\n(ii) A majority of the board of directors; or\n(iii) Not less than 10% of the members; and\n(2) Held:\n(i) In person;\n(ii) Virtually; or\n(iii) With a combination of in–person and virtual attendance.\n(c) The members of the cooperative, by a majority vote, shall determine in the cooperative’s bylaws how meetings may be held.","path":["Article - Corporations and Associations"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gca\u0026section=5-616","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:43Z","sha256":"91ecb23a6a521f2b50b95f4bdb1f9afa90312127a2244884bc87362d85a4f9b2","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-corporations-and-associations-5-615","next":"us-md/md.-code-corporations-and-associations-5-617"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
