Code, Corporations and Associations § 5–637","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) Except as provided in paragraph (2) of this subsection, this subtitle applies to the provision of broadband Internet service by a member–regulated cooperative.\n(2) A member–regulated cooperative may not, for the sole purpose of providing broadband Internet service, exercise the power of condemnation under § 5–607(a)(16) of this subtitle.\n(b) A member–regulated cooperative is subject to the following provisions of the Public Utilities Article:\n(1) § 5–103;\n(2) § 5–201;\n(3) § 5–202;\n(4) § 5–303;\n(5) § 5–304;\n(6) § 5–306;\n(7) § 7–103;\n(8) § 7–104;\n(9) § 7–203;\n(10) § 7–207;\n(11) Title 7, Subtitle 2, Part II;\n(12) § 7–302;\n(13) Title 7, Subtitle 5, Part I and Part II;\n(14) Title 7, Subtitle 7; and\n(15) § 13–101.","path":["Article - Corporations and Associations"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gca\u0026section=5-637","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:43Z","sha256":"9c7ab2deb6557789dd8471f0a27e2565f861dc833af835ca5b54f3a0f4ce5bbe","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-corporations-and-associations-5-636","next":"us-md/md.-code-corporations-and-associations-5-638"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
