Code, Corporations and Associations § 5–638","heading":"","body":"(a) A member–regulated cooperative shall make available to its members:\n(1) Rate schedules, tariffs, and terms and conditions of service;\n(2) Financial and statistical information regarding:\n(i) Operating revenues;\n(ii) Revenues per rate class;\n(iii) Number of members per rate class; and\n(iv) Number of meters per rate class;\n(3) Data and information concerning load management, energy conservation, and other similar programs;\n(4) Information concerning ongoing consumer education programs; and\n(5) Information concerning the member–regulated cooperative’s performance, including income statements, balance sheets, and reliability data.\n(b) A member–regulated cooperative may not adopt a new rate or increase or decrease its rates or charges for the services it provides unless the member–regulated cooperative provides to its members:\n(1) Notice of the proposed rates;\n(2) The opportunity to comment on the proposed rates; and\n(3) The opportunity to observe the portion of the meeting in which the board of directors votes on the proposed rates.","path":["Article - Corporations and Associations"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gca\u0026section=5-638","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:43Z","sha256":"86d89d67d29f8113d8ab07caa61128f6776d565a4256a577125372796b0e6c77","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-corporations-and-associations-5-637","next":"us-md/md.-code-corporations-and-associations-5-639"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
