Code, Corporations and Associations § 5–6B–23.2","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) In this section the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(2) “Common area” means any area in a cooperative project in which members have a possessory interest in common.\n(3) (i) “Sensitive information” means an individual’s:\n1. Social Security card or Social Security number;\n2. Individual Taxpayer Identification Number;\n3. Birth certificate;\n4. Racial or ethnic origin;\n5. National origin;\n6. Citizenship or immigration status;\n7. Religious or philosophical beliefs; or\n8. Medical records.\n(ii) “Sensitive information” does not include an individual’s government–issued photo identification, such as a driver’s license.\n(b) A cooperative housing corporation may not require a member or unit occupant, or the guest or child of a member or unit occupant, to provide sensitive information as a condition for accessing or using a recreational common area, such as a reading lounge, game room, playground, or swimming pool.","path":["Article - Corporations and Associations"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gca\u0026section=5-6B-23.2","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:43Z","sha256":"103eb3b3e121f2ef472359e7e11525c758adf0069d7c5b23a8786732a08aacf4","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-corporations-and-associations-5-6b-23.1","next":"us-md/md.-code-corporations-and-associations-5-6b-24"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
