Code, Correctional Services § 10–305","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) An injured incarcerated individual may file a claim for compensation against the State under this subtitle with the Board.\n(2) The Board may receive original papers representing a claim even if the State has not appropriated money to pay the claim.\n(b) An injured incarcerated individual shall file a claim with the Board by the later of:\n(1) 12 months after being released from the correctional facility; or\n(2) 24 months after the date of injury.\n(c) The Board shall file and properly designate each claim by number, short title, or both.","path":["Article - Correctional Services"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcs\u0026section=10-305","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:53Z","sha256":"c70413aefe1afeec22787ba713d234eb8b431a8645809c7680dbe7502c04f4a2","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-correctional-services-10-304","next":"us-md/md.-code-correctional-services-10-306"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
