Code, Correctional Services § 11–505","heading":"","body":"(a) In addition to any other deductions allowed under this subtitle, an incarcerated individual may be allowed a deduction of 5 days from the incarcerated individual’s term of confinement for each calendar month of presentence or postsentence confinement during which the incarcerated individual manifests:\n(1) exceptional industry, application, and skill in the performance of any industrial, agricultural, or administrative tasks assigned to the incarcerated individual; or\n(2) satisfactory industry, application, and progress in a vocational or other educational or training course.\n(b) The deductions described in subsection (a) of this section shall:\n(1) begin on the first day that the task is performed or the course is taken;\n(2) be made on a prorated basis for any portion of a calendar month during which the incarcerated individual performed the task or attended the course; and\n(3) cease on the day the incarcerated individual is:\n(i) committed to the custody of the Commissioner of Correction; or\n(ii) released.","path":["Article - Correctional Services"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcs\u0026section=11-505","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:53Z","sha256":"19f03e95c84ddc6c85b17075ebbc77654c97c006c288d87f74e6a2dc4a5eb3a6","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-correctional-services-11-504","next":"us-md/md.-code-correctional-services-11-506"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
