Code, Correctional Services § 3–706","heading":"","body":"(a) In addition to any other deductions allowed under this subtitle, as an incentive to reduce a term of incarceration, an incarcerated individual may be allowed a deduction of 5 days from the incarcerated individual’s term of confinement for each calendar month during which the incarcerated individual manifests satisfactory progress in or completion of:\n(1) vocational courses;\n(2) other educational and training courses;\n(3) workforce development training;\n(4) cognitive–behavioral therapy;\n(5) substance abuse therapy;\n(6) life skills training; or\n(7) antiviolence therapy, including anger management and conflict resolution.\n(b) The deduction described in subsection (a) of this section shall be calculated:\n(1) from the first day that the incarcerated individual participates in the course; and\n(2) on a prorated basis for any portion of the calendar month during which the incarcerated individual participates in the course.","path":["Article - Correctional Services"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcs\u0026section=3-706","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:53Z","sha256":"7e9b1a908f8637ac59864c47719b862b0051c3b5af53fed8f24002accd6acf84","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-correctional-services-3-705","next":"us-md/md.-code-correctional-services-3-706.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
