Code, Correctional Services § 4–210","heading":"","body":"(a) On the recommendation of a health care provider, the Director or Director’s designee may authorize medical treatment of a juvenile incarcerated individual when:\n(1) in the judgment of the Director or designee, the treatment is necessary; and\n(2) a parent, guardian, or person in loco parentis of the juvenile is not available on a timely basis to give the authorization.\n(b) The Director or Director’s designee may not be held liable for authorizing in good faith medically necessary treatment under subsection (a) of this section.","path":["Article - Correctional Services"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcs\u0026section=4-210","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:53Z","sha256":"47562d1b44e220f249a4e181af2b1b2793c4d00dfbd06ecef7a9b5a7aa4de01d","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-correctional-services-4-209","next":"us-md/md.-code-correctional-services-4-211"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
