Code, Correctional Services § 8–801","heading":"","body":"(a) An incarcerated individual may not falsely imprison an individual who:\n(1) is employed by a correctional facility;\n(2) performs volunteer work for a correctional facility;\n(3) performs duties in a correctional facility by virtue of federal, State, or local government employment; or\n(4) performs duties in a correctional facility by virtue of a contract with a local government or the federal or State government.\n(b) (1) An incarcerated individual who violates this section is guilty of a felony and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 30 years.\n(2) A sentence imposed under this section may not be suspended.","path":["Article - Correctional Services"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcs\u0026section=8-801","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:53Z","sha256":"f4ea79d2cbe623f6b1bcfda125d28008711ad7bad2dc15f106d7703553227428","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-correctional-services-8-711","next":"us-md/md.-code-correctional-services-8-802"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
