Code, Courts and Judicial Proceedings § 10–4A–01","heading":"","body":"(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) The following words have the meanings stated in § 10–401 of this title:\n(1) Aggrieved person;\n(2) Aural transfer;\n(3) Communications common carrier;\n(4) Contents;\n(5) Electronic communication;\n(6) Electronic communication service;\n(7) Electronic communications system;\n(8) Electronic, mechanical, or other device;\n(9) Electronic storage;\n(10) Intercept;\n(11) Investigative or law enforcement officer;\n(12) Judge of competent jurisdiction;\n(13) Oral communication;\n(14) Person;\n(15) Readily accessible to the general public;\n(16) User; and\n(17) Wire communication.\n(c) “Remote computing service” means the provision to the public of computer storage or processing services by means of an electronic communications system.","path":["Article - Courts and Judicial Proceedings"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcj\u0026section=10-4A-01","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:03Z","sha256":"ed9f317db0cc21c27b86b4bb45c83d9ae444035b1f14fa1845657133cf0b9a50","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-courts-and-judicial-proceedings-10-414","next":"us-md/md.-code-courts-and-judicial-proceedings-10-4a-02"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
