Code, Courts and Judicial Proceedings § 12–309","heading":"","body":"(a) A petition for judicial review of a final decision by the State Board of Contract Appeals in an appeal from the award of a video lottery operation license by the Video Lottery Facility Location Commission may be heard in the circuit court of any county in which venue would be appropriate under § 6–201 of this article.\n(b) Except for cases that the court considers to require a higher priority, a proceeding under this section, including any subsequent appellate judicial review, shall:\n(1) Take precedence on the court’s docket;\n(2) Be heard at the earliest practicable date; and\n(3) Be expedited in every way.\n(c) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a party to a proceeding under this section may appeal the decision of the circuit court only by a petition to the Supreme Court of Maryland for the issuance of a writ of certiorari.","path":["Article - Courts and Judicial Proceedings"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcj\u0026section=12-309","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:03Z","sha256":"9610ec980f33aa5afdb3d4b05d04bae4d1d9b072ef9aafb987a67809b363534d","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-courts-and-judicial-proceedings-12-308","next":"us-md/md.-code-courts-and-judicial-proceedings-12-401"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
