Code, Courts and Judicial Proceedings § 8–205","heading":"","body":"(a) Each jury plan shall designate a jury commissioner.\n(b) The jury commissioner for a circuit court shall be:\n(1) The clerk of the circuit court; or\n(2) Another individual designated in the manner set forth in the jury plan.\n(c) A jury plan may designate, or allow a jury judge to designate, an individual to serve as acting jury commissioner if the jury commissioner is temporarily unavailable or unable to perform duties.\n(d) The jury commissioner for a circuit court shall manage jury selection and service, under the control and supervision of the jury judge for the circuit court.\n(e) A jury commissioner, other than a clerk, is entitled to the compensation set by law.","path":["Article - Courts and Judicial Proceedings"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcj\u0026section=8-205","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:03Z","sha256":"5546f63288900662b68526f95561493bb7e9cdf4900e6182cad29a52e57ad98d","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-courts-and-judicial-proceedings-8-204","next":"us-md/md.-code-courts-and-judicial-proceedings-8-206"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
