Code, Criminal Law § 10–102","heading":"","body":"(a) This section does not apply to:\n(1) a government unit;\n(2) a health or medical agency approved by the Secretary of Health;\n(3) a medical, pharmaceutical, or other professional publication not publicly distributed; or\n(4) a news item or article published in a newspaper, magazine, or book.\n(b) A person may not advertise, allow to be advertised, or call to public attention:\n(1) a drug, medicine, preparation, or substance for the treatment, alleviation, or cure of venereal disease; or\n(2) a person from whom or a place where a drug, medicine, preparation, or substance for the treatment, alleviation, or cure of venereal disease may be obtained.\n(c) A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to a fine not exceeding $500 for each violation.","path":["Article - Criminal Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcr\u0026section=10-102","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:08Z","sha256":"47cc0758105f0f9b135b91ba2bfbde229aecb325d2aaa38c85e1aafd2a568573","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-10-101","next":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-10-103"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
