Code, Criminal Law § 10–123","heading":"","body":"(a) In this part the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) “Alcoholic beverage” has the meaning stated in § 21–903 of the Transportation Article.\n(c) “Bus” has the meaning stated in § 11–105 of the Transportation Article.\n(d) “Cannabis” has the meaning stated in § 5–101 of this article.\n(e) “Highway” has the meaning stated in § 11–127 of the Transportation Article.\n(f) “Limousine” has the meaning stated in § 11–129.1 of the Transportation Article.\n(g) “Motor home” has the meaning stated in § 11–134.3 of the Transportation Article.\n(h) (1) “Motor vehicle” means a vehicle that:\n(i) is self–propelled or propelled by electric power obtained from overhead electrical wires; and\n(ii) is not operated on rails.\n(2) “Motor vehicle” includes:\n(i) a low speed vehicle, as defined in § 11–130.1 of the Transportation Article;\n(ii) a moped, as defined in § 11–134.1 of the Transportation Article; and\n(iii) a motor scooter, as defined in § 11–134.5 of the Transportation Article.\n(i) “Moving violation” has the meaning stated in § 11–136.1 of the Transportation Article.\n(j) “Open container” means a bottle, can, or other receptacle:\n(1) that is open;\n(2) that has a broken seal; or\n(3) from which the contents are partially removed.\n(k) “Passenger area” has the meaning stated in § 21–903 of the Transportation Article.\n(l) “Taxicab” has the meaning stated in § 11–165 of the Transportation Article.","path":["Article - Criminal Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcr\u0026section=10-123","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:08Z","sha256":"c1689b4cb8b5eccd5778c7812fbdebf6561ba527c08858ab6231ead9155f2557","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-10-121","next":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-10-124"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
