Code, Criminal Law § 10–306","heading":"","body":"(a) Except as provided in subsection (b) of this section, a person who violates this subtitle is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 3 years or a fine not exceeding $5,000 or both.\n(b) (1) A person who violates § 10–304(2)(i) of this subtitle is guilty of a felony and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 10 years or a fine not exceeding $10,000 or both.\n(2) A person who violates § 10–304(2)(ii) of this subtitle is guilty of a felony and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 20 years or a fine not exceeding $20,000 or both.\n(c) In addition to any other penalties imposed by this section, the court may require a person who violates this subtitle to complete an antibias education program.","path":["Article - Criminal Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcr\u0026section=10-306","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:08Z","sha256":"1513157d65ef7a1e91648f922496de3fea424330f09a3734e9b5e8d03c41e16e","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-10-305.1","next":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-10-307"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
