Code, Criminal Law § 10–405","heading":"","body":"(a) A person may not, with the intent to conceal a crime, knowingly and willfully dismember, destroy, remove, bury, dispose of, or obliterate by any means any portion of human remains.\n(b) A person may not aid or abet another in violating subsection (a) of this section.\n(c) A person who violates this section is guilty of a felony and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 5 years.\n(d) A sentence imposed under this section may be consecutive to or concurrent with any other sentence imposed for any other crime based on the act establishing the violation of this section.","path":["Article - Criminal Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcr\u0026section=10-405","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:08Z","sha256":"36bd074bc84449ffe46ba1180e77d25bb0da552abd5beb9dbc501caa5fe65c13","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-10-404","next":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-10-501"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
