Code, Criminal Law § 10–625.1","heading":"","body":"(a) In this section, “declawing procedure” has the meaning stated in § 2–301 of the Agriculture Article.\n(b) Except as provided in § 2–313.3 of the Agriculture Article, a person may not perform a declawing procedure on a cat.\n(c) (1) A violation of this section is a civil offense.\n(2) A person who violates this section is subject to a fine not exceeding $1,000.\n(3) The provisions of this section may be enforced by:\n(i) any State or local law enforcement officer; or\n(ii) the local animal control authority for the jurisdiction where the violation occurs.","path":["Article - Criminal Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcr\u0026section=10-625.1","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:08Z","sha256":"be849cba0acd607a17ddff38d1bd71debb967093410d90281e1cd6d4f50e4c28","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-10-625","next":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-10-626"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
