Code, Criminal Law § 10–627","heading":"","body":"(a) For the purposes of this subtitle, each animal harmed in a violation of this subtitle is a separate offense and shall be deemed an individual victim for purposes of the sentencing guidelines stacking rule.\n(b) Notwithstanding any other law, a conviction under this subtitle may not merge with a conviction for any other crime based on the act establishing the violation of this subtitle.\n(c) A sentence imposed under this subtitle may be separate from and consecutive to or concurrent with a sentence for any crime based on the act establishing the violation of this subtitle.","path":["Article - Criminal Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcr\u0026section=10-627","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:08Z","sha256":"4a2696536c91ceff916faf5a145fdddd9950fb3eaefdae9f3fb7171dd367b81c","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-10-626","next":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-10-701"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
