Code, Criminal Law § 11–101","heading":"","body":"(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) “Advertising purposes” means the purpose of propagandizing in connection with the commercial:\n(1) sale of a product;\n(2) offering of a service; or\n(3) exhibition of entertainment.\n(c) “Sadomasochistic abuse” means:\n(1) flagellation or torture committed by or inflicted on an individual who is:\n(i) nude;\n(ii) wearing only undergarments; or\n(iii) wearing a revealing or bizarre costume; or\n(2) binding, fettering, or otherwise physically restraining an individual who is:\n(i) nude;\n(ii) wearing only undergarments; or\n(iii) wearing a revealing or bizarre costume.\n(d) “Sexual conduct” means:\n(1) human masturbation;\n(2) sexual intercourse;\n(3) whether alone or with another individual or animal, any touching of or contact with:\n(i) the genitals, buttocks, or pubic areas of an individual; or\n(ii) breasts of a female individual; or\n(4) lascivious exhibition of the genitals or pubic area of any person.\n(e) “Sexual excitement” means:\n(1) the condition of the human genitals when in a state of sexual stimulation;\n(2) the condition of the human female breasts when in a state of sexual stimulation; or\n(3) the sensual experiences of individuals engaging in or witnessing sexual conduct or nudity.","path":["Article - Criminal Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcr\u0026section=11-101","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:08Z","sha256":"1b865ab0aa5bc4063cad449a1aa25866399479a71556625746488e9ade4adee8","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-10-706","next":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-11-102"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
