Code, Criminal Law § 11–102","heading":"","body":"(a) A person may not knowingly sell or offer to sell to a minor:\n(1) a picture, photograph, drawing, sculpture, motion picture, film, or other visual representation or image of an individual or portion of the human body that depicts sadomasochistic abuse, sexual conduct, or sexual excitement;\n(2) a book, magazine, paperback, pamphlet, or other written or printed matter however reproduced, that contains:\n(i) any matter enumerated in item (1) of this section;\n(ii) obscene material; or\n(iii) explicit verbal descriptions or narrative accounts of sadomasochistic abuse, sexual conduct, or sexual excitement; or\n(3) a sound recording that contains:\n(i) obscene material; or\n(ii) explicit verbal descriptions or narrative accounts of sadomasochistic abuse, sexual conduct, or sexual excitement.\n(b) A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 6 months or a fine not exceeding $1,000 or both.","path":["Article - Criminal Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcr\u0026section=11-102","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:08Z","sha256":"943996b2ba8c7eefb255ea734271b7848236a7335c1512392e0838b58e17c0a9","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-11-101","next":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-11-103"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
