Code, Criminal Law § 11–201","heading":"","body":"(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) “Distribute” means to transfer possession.\n(c) “Knowingly” means having knowledge of the character and content of the matter.\n(d) “Matter” means:\n(1) a book, magazine, newspaper, or other printed or written material;\n(2) a picture, drawing, photograph, motion picture, or other pictorial representation;\n(3) a statue or other figure;\n(4) a recording, transcription, or mechanical, chemical, or electrical reproduction; or\n(5) any other article, equipment, machine, or material.\n(e) “Sadomasochistic abuse” has the meaning stated in § 11-101 of this title.\n(f) “Sexual conduct” has the meaning stated in § 11-101 of this title.\n(g) “Sexual excitement” has the meaning stated in § 11-101 of this title.","path":["Article - Criminal Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcr\u0026section=11-201","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:08Z","sha256":"39fbfc5dae45fb8438b246c1ca45c7014a72932e6ff816c28aecb14e0b4915f7","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-11-107","next":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-11-202"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
