Code, Criminal Law § 12–104","heading":"","body":"(a) A person may not:\n(1) keep a gaming device, or all or a part of a building, vessel, or place, on land or water within the State for the purpose of gambling;\n(2) own, rent, or occupy all or a part of a building, vessel, or place and knowingly allow a gaming device to be kept in the building, vessel, or place;\n(3) lease or rent all or a part of a building, vessel, or place to be used for the purpose of gambling;\n(4) deal at a gaming device or in a building, vessel, or place for gambling;\n(5) manage a gaming device or a building, vessel, or place for gambling; or\n(6) have an interest in a gaming device or the profits of a gaming device.\n(b) A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment for not less than 6 months and not exceeding 1 year or a fine not exceeding $500 or both.","path":["Article - Criminal Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcr\u0026section=12-104","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:08Z","sha256":"596f0fbed2904ae9537c4ba4642f4d26eb5e45129094294eabd4b92f584579d3","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-12-103","next":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-12-105"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
