Code, Criminal Law § 12–206","heading":"","body":"(a) This section does not apply to a lottery conducted by a government.\n(b) A person may not print, write, or publish an account of a lottery that describes:\n(1) when or where the lottery is to be drawn;\n(2) any prize available in the lottery;\n(3) the price of a lottery ticket or share of a lottery ticket; or\n(4) where a lottery ticket may be obtained.\n(c) A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 60 days or a fine not exceeding $100 or both.","path":["Article - Criminal Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcr\u0026section=12-206","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:08Z","sha256":"6274cad731d4d1826ec7c827787b99d7c230d71e4b778bba7bf5196cdc9018b9","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-12-205","next":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-12-207"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
