Code, Criminal Law § 13–1405","heading":"","body":"(a) A person authorized to conduct bingo under subsection (b) of this section shall obtain a bingo permit from the county agency designated by the County Commissioners to issue a bingo permit.\n(b) An organization may conduct bingo for its own benefit or to benefit charity in the county if the organization is a legal resident of the county and is:\n(1) a bona fide:\n(i) religious organization;\n(ii) fraternal organization;\n(iii) civic organization;\n(iv) war veterans’ organization;\n(v) hospital;\n(vi) amateur athletic organization;\n(vii) patriotic organization;\n(viii) educational organization; or\n(ix) charitable organization;\n(2) a county volunteer fire department or rescue squad; or\n(3) an auxiliary for a county volunteer fire department or rescue squad.\n(c) A person who is not a legal resident of the county may not conduct bingo.\n(d) To qualify for a bingo permit, a person shall meet the requirements set by the county.\n(e) Only members of an organization listed under subsection (b) of this section may conduct and operate bingo games.","path":["Article - Criminal Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcr\u0026section=13-1405","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:08Z","sha256":"93560fe704fb2fb7b15793a3a3d7d3d03b0557cf40c9844a70ef7c6b8512fe67","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-13-1404","next":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-13-1406"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
