Code, Criminal Law § 13–2101","heading":"","body":"(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) “County commissioners” means the Board of County Commissioners of St. Mary’s County.\n(c) “Designee” means a person designated by the county commissioners to administer the issuance of bingo licenses in the county.\n(d) (1) “Gaming device” includes a paddle wheel, wheel of fortune, chance book, bingo, Nevada card, and a stamp machine.\n(2) “Gaming device” does not include a slot machine, as defined in § 12–301 of this article.\n(e) “Gaming event” means a carnival, bazaar, or raffle.\n(f) “Qualified organization” means:\n(1) a volunteer fire company; or\n(2) a bona fide:\n(i) religious organization;\n(ii) fraternal organization;\n(iii) civic organization;\n(iv) war veterans’ organization; or\n(v) charitable organization.\n(g) “Sheriff” means the Sheriff of St. Mary’s County.","path":["Article - Criminal Law"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gcr\u0026section=13-2101","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:57:08Z","sha256":"1526abbcabb48ac2e94ca827e2ef4a9855eeaf7dce00417a0fdf07b3c7f7ac3d","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-13-2006","next":"us-md/md.-code-criminal-law-13-2102"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
